Managed service provider Versent said it has signed an agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) automation specialist 6pillars.ai to deliver automated AWS Well-Architected Framework Reviews across its customer base.

The partnership follows Versent’s recent consolidation of Telstra Purple Cloud & Digital and Epicon under its own brand, to provide customers with expanded digital transformation services.

Under the agreement, Versent will leverage 6pillars.ai’s AUTOMATE+ platform to streamline compliance processes for its clients.

“We had developed our own, in-house software but quickly realised that our time was better spent on more valuable pursuits that deliver the kind of transformative outcomes that we’ve become renown for,” Tim Hope, chief technology officer at Versent, said.

“In addition to rapidly improving our customers’ posture against AWS best-practices, 6pillars’ AUTOMATE+ platforms capabilities allow us to ensure true, continuous compliance against major standards like ISO 27001 and SOC 2 in code and infrastructure,” Hope said.

AWS has mandated that all Well-Architected Framework Reviews must be performed using automation tools.

The Well-Architected Framework is to help customers understand the pros and cons of decisions made while building systems on AWS.

It shows architectural best practices for designing and operating reliable, secure, efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable systems in the cloud.

“We’re delighted to partner with Versent to deliver end-to-end automation capabilities across their AWS Well-Architected Practice,” Lorenzo Modesto, chief executive officer at 6pillars.ai, said.

Modesto said the collaboration would enable Versent’s customers to implement more efficient security and compliance measures throughout their development processes.

“We pride ourselves on not just finding issues but delivering the largest library of scans and automation in AWS to safely and quickly resolve issues in real-time,” Modesto said.

The integration aims to allow Versent clients to implement security measures earlier in their development pipelines while maintaining robust infrastructure protections.

“Leveraging 6pillars.ai AWS-integrated automation, code-scanning and automation runbooks will allow Versent customers to shift their security and compliance left as well as ‘Protect-Right’ with runbooks and guardrails in their infrastructure,” Modesto said.
