In the countdown to AWS re:Invent, Josh Lopez our GM of Cloud and AWS Ambassador shares his thoughts on which sessions will benefit your digital transformation journey. Josh is passionate about sharing his experience and knowledge of AWS and, ahead of AWS re:Invent in Vegas this month, has studied the event guide with a view to ensuring he’s at the sessions that he can get the most out of.

Not long now until AWS re:Invent 2022 is upon us and whether you’ll be travelling to Las Vegas or absorbing all the content digitally, I’ll give you my take on the must see Security & Networking sessions. If you haven’t yet registered, head over to https://reinvent.awsevents.com/register/ and you’ll be able to take in all the below sessions.

The following are sessions that I recommend you register for, and I’ve provided sessions if you’re in Las Vegas and sessions if you’re watching along digitally.

If you’re in-person at Las Vegas, here are my recommendations

  • Implementing DevSecOps pipelines with compliance in mind
    Date & Time: Tuesday, November 29 @ 11:45AM – 12:45PM PT
    Type: Chalk Talk
Overview: In this chalk talk, review a DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline that includes software composition analysis, static application security testing, and dynamic application security testing.
  • AWS CIRT toolkit for automating incident response preparedness
    Date & Time: Tuesday, November 29 @ 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM PT
    Type: Builders’ Session
Overview: At AWS, the Customer Incident Response Team (CIRT) creates tools to support customers during active security events and to help them anticipate and respond to events using simulations. In this builders’ session, CIRT members demonstrate best practices for using these tools to enable service logs with Assisted Log Enabler for AWS, run a security event simulation using AWS CloudSaga, and analyse logs to respond to a security event with Amazon Athena. Note: It requires a laptop to participate.
