Versent snaps up fellow AWS partner Contexti
Versent has acquired fellow Sydney-based AWS partner and big data solutions specialist Contexti.
Contexti was founded in 2012 and boasts more than 100 enterprise customers, including Caltex, Seven West Media and SAI Global.
The company bills itself as an ‘actionable insights’ business, specialising in providing autonomous analytics with machine learning and AI. Its vendor partners include AWS and Microsoft Azure. Versent is no stranger to Amazon itself, having been named AWS’ top consulting partner of the year two years in a row.
Versent chief executive Thor Essman said the acquisition was timely given the importance enterprises place on making data-led decisions.
“The acquisition of Contexti will boost our ability to respond to the increasing demand for machine learning, data analytics and data aggregation solutions,” Essman said.
“Our deep expertise in Amazon Web Services cloud, and automation, combined with Contexti’s proven track record delivering automated AI solutions, big data development and data warehouse solutions for Australian enterprise, means we can now offer our customers a complete data and analytics solution.”
As part of the acquisition, Contexti’s staff will be embedded within Versent’s Sydney-based team. Essman added that Versent has also signed new agreements with Contexti’s vendor partners Snowflake, Talend and Streamsets.
“Bringing the Contexti team into the Versent family and bolstering our data offer to the Australian enterprise will give our customers, and future customers access to the best minds and solutions in the industry all under one roof. I am genuinely excited about what the next 12 months has in store for Versent and our customers.”
Contexti’s chief executive Sidney Minassian will stay on with the company in an advisory role until the end of the financial year.
“Since founding Contexti we’ve been on a mission to help our customers create value from data. With an aligned priority on people, culture and values, we’re thrilled to continue and expand our work under the Versent banner,” Minassian said.
